Update: This eBay auction has ended, thank you to all who participated. Stay tuned — future FUN fundraisers are planned!
As many of you know, I am a huge animal lover. I am also a veterinarian and I have long wanted to merge these two loves to help animals in need.
Even though it has been a few years in the making, today I am finally introducing a new project: Art For Animals.
The Art Part
This project is finally off the ground! Here is the ‘art’ part, a necklace called Pippa The Pencil Thief.
This necklace has a story, of course. The kitty bead is modeled after a cat named Pippa, who has a penchant for pencils. She is one of the 3 feline stars of the @amazeballsgracie Instagram account. Definitely worth checking out. My sister is the humble secretary for these busy kitties.
Read more of my intro about Pippa over on my other blog, AboutVetMed – Pippa’s Story.
The Animals Part
The ‘animals’ part is my chosen charity, World Vets. This 501(c)3 non-profit was founded by my friend Dr. Cathy King DVM PhD. They help animals (and their people) in the US and all over the world. They provide much needed veterinary relief in emergency and disaster situations.
World Vets was founded on the One Health concept, which is the belief that helping animals and people make for healthier, self-sustaining communities.
To kick this off, I will be auctioning off the Pippa The Pencil Thief necklace. The auction will be on eBay with live feeds of the auction viewable on this blog.
The auction will start on Monday, October 9th, and run for 7 days. Bidding will start at $1.00, and everyone is welcome to bid. Free worldwide shipping and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to World Vets.
I will also have some fun raffle prizes. No purchase necessary, just your help in spreading the word about this auction.
