TableTop Studio

(TTS) is a photography kit offered to help people (maybe non photographers like myself?) take better photos — for eBay auctions, jury slides, or anytime “professional” photos are needed.

In my opinion, selling online requires photos that truly show and showoff your item(s) to those interested in your wares. I want people to be able to feel as if they can pick up my beads, turn them around, and see how big they are “in hand”. I also don’t want to have to digitally “fix” all of my photos to counteract bad photography; people should get exactly what they are clicking on!

I had been taking my photos in natural daylight, in a south facing window area. I had to wait so it wasn’t direct sunlight, but couldn’t shoot too early or late in the day either, because the colors would become distorted. In the winter, my “optimal light time” was narrowed down to 3-4 peak hours in the afternoon, and in time found myself becoming more frustrated with this set up, because this usually cut into my prime torch time! And… since I spend most of my time on the computer during the evening hours, it seemed the natural choice would be to do my photography and eBay listings at night.
